Ch Corydon Quinault

Born 24/11/1971
Sire Ch Ramsey of Rokeby – Dam Ch Corydon Qui Vive
Winner of 3 CCs. Sire of 3 Champions.
He was our first ever Challenge Certificate winner. He won this at Bath Championship Show in 1973. The judge was Frank Mitchell of the famous Glenmist Kennel. He won from the Post Graduate Class which in those days was quite unusual. But, he had to wait until after his dam and half sister had become Champions before he did. He won his title at his last show. He really did not like shows so I told him that this was the last time he would ever go into the ring. I lied because he won the Open Dog Class so he had to go into the ring again for the CC. He won that and so he had to go into the ring again to challenge for Best of Breed. He had no hope as the winning bitch was the top winner that year. But he did win so he had to go into the ring again for the Group challenge. He did well there as well as he was placed third in the Group. We eventually sold him to a breeder in Australia on the understanding that he would not be shown. He did sire a lot of winners in his new Country.
His CC wins:-
- 12/51973 Bath – Judge Mr F Mitchell
- 11/9/1974 Bournemouth – Judge Mrs T Taylor
- 18/9/1976 National working – Judge Mr L Casely.
His pedigree is interesting because it represents line breeding in parts and inbreeding in other parts. But it does show why he was such a good sire.
His Champion offspring:-
- Ch Little Caesar at Corydon
- Ch Dameral Aristedes
- Ch Corydon Handsome Hero
