He was born at about the same time as USA President Donald Trump was elected for his first term. So obviously he had to be called Donald as his pet name. He was a lovely dog to show as he was always alert, but too many of the breed judges did not like him. Probably because he was much sounder than their own stock. He only sired one litter (breeders preferred unsound dogs), but we kept a dog puppy and he has gone on to win many Best of Breed awards plus winning a first prize at Crufts. Donald had a white blaze which was also unpopular but when I started showing the vast majority of the Rough Collies had white blazes. I believe that he was the first Champion dog with a white blaze since Ch Lochinvar of Ladypark won the CC at Crufts in 1957.
