As breeders we have to accept that it is not just the best looking that are important for the future success. It is in fact very often the ugly duckling in the kennel that has the most influence on the future success. I am often amazed that the Champions do not breed on as we hoped they would, but their siblings do this job much better. The first that I have put in this section is a bitch that was hardly shown but she had seven litters that produced 48 puppies born and she reared the lot. Most went as pets as she was at the start of our breeding, but she did produce CC winner an Austrian Champion and a dog that sired our first . This bitch lived a very long and extremely happy life. She was a wonderful pet and really helped us onto the right path.
These are the Corydon’s that did not win very much but were instrumental in helping us to become one of the Worlds top kennels of Rough Collies. I call them the Top Breeders.
